Honeymoon Part 2

So Thursday we headed off to the snow. I wouldn't recomend this trip to anyone unless you are either staying at the snow fields, or have all of your own clothes and equipment. It took us 3 hours to get there, and then over an hour to get our clothes and equipment. They were the most unhelpful and rude people there!! This was the main place to get your stuff at Mt Buller, and they really need some skills in customer service!! Anyway, after all that, Mike and I decided to just have some fun in the snow and try to make the most of the day. Which we did by making a snowman and playing like children in the snow. Snowball fights are great until you get one down the back of your neck under the snow jacket!!

Friday we got up and went for a walk up the block to Queen Victoria Markets. What a crap place. It was row after row of people selling crap!! And it wasn't even cheap! The fresh food hall - here on the left with Mike showing us the lovely produce, was a great place. I wish we something like this here to buy our fruit and vegies. The quality and prices were amazing!!

After the markets we caught the tram to St Kilda. Wow, there is a whole bunch of nothing at St Kilda!! They did have some great cake shops tho, and I made Mike stop for some morning tea!!

Friday night, off to the Storm. They smashed the Roosters. We caught the tram to Olympic Stadium. The stadium was really old, and there wasn't much leg room in the seats, but Mike was in his element. The whinger of the trip award goes to this old couple sitting in front of us, they did nothing but complain the whole night. They complained about the small space, including trying to get people sitting further down the row with more leg room to sit in their seats. These people just glared at them with a "what the?" look. Mike had spilt his coke under their seats becasue of the lack of room, and they went and got someone who worked there to come and clean the floor. When have you ever been at a sporting event when there hasn't been drink spilt on the floor!! they were lucky it wasn't beer!! Anyway the game was great and Mike loved seeing his beloved team playing at the graveyard. It got down to 7 degrees while we were there as we could see the tempature on the top of a building in the distance. We had to walk back into town after the game tho as Melbourne does not schedule any extra public transport!! How crazy is that!! So all these people had to walk over the bridge into town!!

Saturday we went shopping in town, and at the DFO at southern cross train station. Saturday night we went down to the casino. I ended up winning a bit, but Mike was loosing, so we didn't stay long. We ended up having dinner at this great little restaurant at Central Plaza.
Sunday we went to the Old Melbourne Gaol. What a great place to visit. Very errie and spooky. Especially where you see where people including Ned Kelly were hanged.

As part of the admission to the goal, you get to see the old watchhouse as well. Including the padded cell. Mike seems quite at home here....

Admitted to goal.....

We then headed over to the state library, where they had an exhibit inculding Ned Kellys armour. Very interesting.
